Who I Am
I'm a lifelong lover of cats and rubber ducks who pivoted to a career in software development after a prior career working in IT consulting, helpdesk, and various customer service roles.
Everything I build is based on a desire either to solve a problem I've experienced or to learn a tool that interests me, such as a new language or library. I love learning new tools almost as much as I love delving deeper into tools I already know and use. It's that drive for knowledge that drove me to get certifications that demonstrate my Python skills. It's that curiosity that led me to try Django instead of sticking with Flask, and that love of learning that led me to try FastAPI instead of sticking with Django. That determination is what got me through my time with MIPS Assembly (and I would be happy never to return to it!).
To learn more about me check out some of my interests below, or maybe I can entice you into playing around with some of my projects on the projects page!
